‘Metamorphosis’ celebrates the fading of the chrysalis; the fading of the disguise and the reveal of your true colours.
The inspiration for the publication was the design of butterfly wings. When the wings are closed it shows camouflage colours, allowing you to hide yourself from the world. But when they open, they show the most beautiful and vibrant colours.
I took pictures of my surroundings outside; places I would fly if I were a butterfly. For the first half of the publication the pictures turned into shy lines, unrecognisable. For the other half the pictures show colours they didn't even know they had.
You have to flip the publication to be able to read the other half. I designed it like this to illustrate the process of opening the wings and showing what was hidden underneath even more.
This publication is part two of the Metamorphosis project. Click the button to see the first part.
