We live in a world where we are constantly stimulated by all kinds of information around us. From busy city sounds to the constant scrolling on our phone. Because we are constantly ‘on’, we don’t give our brain enough breaks to process all this information and rest. But with the increasing busyness in the world this is almost impossible to do. We must prevent ending up in an overstimulated society. To do this, it is important that we change our behavior and allow moments of stillness.
Mindstillness illustrates a moment of ease. It asks you to take the time and embrace the calmness. Allow yourself to be ‘off’ for a while and feel the peace.
When the noise is too loud.
My eyes too tired to see.
My head at the edge of exploding.
And my thoughts overflowing.
I search for a hideout.
I look up at the sky.
A combination of blue and white, ever so softly.
A little rest for my eyes.
As I feel the calmness arise.
Not afraid of time passing by.
Silently I stare.
Following the rhythm of the birds’ wings.
And the little song that it brings.
I meet the whispers of the wind.
That all of a sudden makes me aware.
As I lay down my head.
And embrace the stillness.
The slow pace.
Without anything to chase.
I meet my energy instead.
